The Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue (IRD) organized a seminar on “Contours of Contemporary Critical Theory” on 26 September 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
The venue of the Seminar was the Auditorium of National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad (NUML). Mr. Omar Shaukat, Assistant Professor of the Institute Business Administration Karachi along with NUML Rector Major General (Retired) Ziauddin Najam and NUML Director General Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal.
New critical perspectives unrestricted by the tunnel visions of narrow loyalties need to be forged for broader and more inclusive conceptualization of our politico-national issues- Omar Shaukat.
Mr. Omar took into account the evolution of different historic currents which led to the formation of current critical theory. He also spoke about the relevance and value of critical theory in order to make sense of the issues and questions of our contemporary world. He said for a broader and more inclusive conceptualization of our politico-national issues, we have to forge new critical perspectives unrestricted by the tunnel visions of our narrow loyalties.
